Laura Fako Utley, Harpist

Laura Fako Utley has been playing the harp since 1977.  She grew up in a musical family in Elmhurst, Illinois.  Both of her parents are professional musicians.  Her father played with the Lyric Opera Orchestra of Chicago and her mother is a former member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.  Laura was enrolled in a summer music program at the Interlochen Center of the Arts, where her father teaches in the summer, and immediately chose to play the harp.  Laura has won numerous awards in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio.  In 1990, she received her degree in Music Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.  Laura currently performs and teaches throughout the Chicagoland area playing with orchestras, small chamber ensembles, for weddings, receptions, and special occasions.  To obtain Laura's recordings, Whispering Dreams  and Silent Night ,  please email Laura: LAURAHARPIST@aol.com .
